Port Arthur Historic Site is open Christmas Day

20/12/2013 Looking for something different for Christmas lunch this year? Why not pack up a picnic of Tassie’s finest produce and enjoy the outstanding scenic beauty of Port Arthur Historic Site’s gardens? The site will be open from 10am – 3pm on December 25. The Visitor Centre, grounds and buildings will be open as will the Cafe and Gift Shop. Harbour Cruises will not operate however there will be a number of guided tours throughout the day. Felons Bistro is closed Christmas night and there will be no Ghost Tours. Reduced entry fees apply for the day: Adults $18.00pp, Children - Free of Charge. Don’t forget the fabulous Boxing Day Wood Chops hosted here at Port Arthur Historic Site on, you guessed it, December 26! Commencing at 9am the program will also feature market stalls and traditional children’s sport activities. A wonderful way to follow up Christmas Day with family and friends. Our ever popular Summer Activity program commences shortly after Christmas with our history plays, traditional children’s activities and our new, Family Friendly Ghost Tours. The Cascades Female Factory Historic Site will be closed on Christmas Day, but will be open every other day with tours operating at scheduled times. www.femalefactory.org.au The Coal Mines Historic Site will be open daily.
